Drake Bay Sunset was painted at the end of my 5 week adventure, painting the California coastline.  A Nor Cal friend I met in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica showed me his favorite view of Drake Bay. It was breathtaking. I tried to capture most of it quickly as the sun was setting and took a ton of photos for reference when I got back to the studio.  I love the massive clouds, teasing drought stricken Northern California and the perfect sets rolling in.

Drake Bay Sunset is 9×12, acrylic then oil on canvas panel. It is framed in a narrow 1.5″ gold frame.
